What You Will Be Doing

  • Design and deploy a modern data lakehouse in Microsoft Fabric using OneLake, Spark, and Delta Lake to manage data on building automation, energy usage, and operational performance.
  • Define strategies for ingesting, processing, and storing data from sensors, building management platforms, and ERP systems.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive data models (conceptual, logical, and physical) to represent relationships across our business landscape.
  • Implement data governance frameworks to uphold data integrity, security, and compliance with both industry and internal standards.
  • Partner with security teams to enforce access controls and data masking for sensitive information.
  • Lead the setup and ongoing maintenance of the lakehouse, ensuring reliability, scalability, and high performance.
  • Engineer and fine-tune ETL/ELT pipelines for efficient data flow and real-time analytics.
  • Apply validation rules and quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency across datasets.
  • Continuously monitor system health, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements.
  • Stay current on Microsoft Fabric innovations, assessing new tools to advance platform capabilities.
  • Engage cross-functional teams—including data engineers, analysts, and domain experts—to align solutions with business needs.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for all stakeholders.
  • Support knowledge sharing by maintaining architecture documentation and promoting best practices across the organization. 

 

What You Will Need

  • Over 5 years of experience in data architecture or related roles, with a strong record of delivering scalable data solutions.
  • Deep expertise in data warehousing and lakehouse design, including hands-on work with large-scale data environments.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Azure, particularly Microsoft Fabric components like OneLake, Spark, and Synapse, applied in real-world data integration and analysis.
  • Skilled in SQL and data modeling, with a focus on building performant, scalable structures.
  • Experienced in enforcing data governance and quality standards to ensure accuracy, compliance, and consistency.
  • Strong collaboration and communication abilities, adept at working across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Proficient in Spark and Delta Lake for high-performance data processing and analytics.
  • Well-versed in data privacy and security practices, ensuring regulatory compliance and data protection.
  • Comfortable working in Agile environments and delivering iterative improvements to data systems.
  • Familiar with tools like Power BI to present actionable insights to business users.
  • Holds relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate), reflecting technical depth and continuous learning. Background or understanding of building automation and energy systems, aligning data strategies with our domain-specific needs.
