Job Title: Senior Software Architect – Cloud Applications & AWS Clout Infra Architect
Role Overview:
Seeking a highly experienced Software Architect to lead the design and implementation of large-scale cloud-native application platforms focused on operational workflows, observability, and multi-cluster Kubernetes fleet management using GitOps and DevOps models.
Key Responsibilities:

Architect scalable, resilient fleet management solutions across Kubernetes-based hosting platforms (including K8s/K3s, OpenStack, or bare metal environments).

Design GitOps workflows to manage multi-cluster application deployments, infrastructure provisioning, and configuration consistency.

Implement centralized governance, security policies, and lifecycle automation across distributed Kubernetes environments.

Use tools like ArgoCD, Flux, or similar GitOps-compatible platforms to drive CI/CD and configuration management across the fleet.

Set up and manage observability systems for cluster health and operational insight using monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, Datadog, or similar.

Lead the development of operational platforms that deliver intuitive UX for internal development and operations teams.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure secure, performant, and cost-effective infrastructure across public cloud providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
Preferred Experience:

Deep expertise in designing and maintaining cloud-native, microservices-based infrastructures with strong security and performance standards.

Proven experience managing the full lifecycle of Kubernetes clusters at scale.

Strong background in cloud infrastructure architecture, especially with AWS services.

Comfortable translating operational requirements into technical architectures and mentoring teams in a fast-paced Agile (SAFe/Scrum) environment.
Education & Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field—or equivalent hands-on experience.

10+ years of experience architecting cloud-based and embedded platforms within highly regulated or performance-critical domains such as aerospace, automotive, or industrial tech.

Extensive experience with Linux or Android-based systems.
Location:
Role is based in the Portland, Oregon (PDX region preferred).
