Role Overview Join a public sector technology team supporting a large and diverse municipal environment. This organization delivers critical services to a growing community and relies on modern technology to streamline operations and improve service delivery.

As a Senior Infrastructure Technician, you will play a critical role in maintaining and supporting enterprise network and technology infrastructure across a multi-site environment. This role focuses on ensuring reliable, secure, and efficient network operations — including support for public safety systems — and provides technical leadership in the design, implementation, and support of complex IT systems.

This position is ideal for a hands-on infrastructure professional with strong networking and troubleshooting experience, a proactive approach to system health, and the ability to support both end users and mission-critical infrastructure.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Install, configure, and maintain mobile computing hardware deployed in field vehicles, including public safety units
    • Maintain physical network infrastructure including server rack management, UPS systems, and structured cabling across multiple facilities
    • Troubleshoot advanced workstation issues including complex software conflicts, hardware failures, and network connectivity problems
    • Administer enterprise collaboration and identity platforms, including license management, email routing, distribution lists, and SSO integrations
    • Build and maintain standard system images for new hire provisioning and hardware refresh cycles
    • Support physical security systems including IP cameras and badge access door controllers across city facilities
    • Diagnose and resolve WAN/LAN connectivity issues across distributed sites including wireless access points, switch ports, and ethernet infrastructure
    • Manage mobile device fleet using MDM software, including security updates, remote wipe, and data segregation on mobile hardware
    • Monitor and verify daily backup logs to ensure successful protection of critical organizational data
    • Coordinate and escort external vendors such as ISPs and cabling contractors, ensuring work meets organizational standards and safety protocols

    Education & Qualifications

    • 4+ years of progressively responsible experience providing technical support across computer applications, local area networks, and/or mid-range computer systems
    • Strong working knowledge of LAN/WAN architecture, network troubleshooting, and infrastructure support
    • Experience with enterprise platforms including email systems, SSO/identity management, and endpoint management tools
    • Hands-on experience with server hardware, UPS systems, and structured cabling
    • Proficiency with MDM platforms for managing mobile devices at scale
    • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing

    Preferred Experience

    • Experience supporting public safety or other mission-critical technology environments
    • Familiarity with IP-based physical security systems (cameras, access control)
    • Experience working in government or regulated environments
    • Exposure to backup and disaster recovery systems and procedures
    • Experience imaging and deploying endpoints at scale

    Work Schedule & Requirements

    • Standard schedule: Monday–Thursday with alternating Fridays; some assignments may fall outside standard hours
    • On-call rotation required to support 24/7 operations
    • Fully on-site; no hybrid or remote work available
    • Candidates must successfully complete a thorough background investigation as part of the selection process

    Why Us

    • Opportunity to work on impactful technology infrastructure supporting essential community services
    • Collaborative environment with exposure to enterprise systems across a large, multi-department organization
    • Varied, hands-on work spanning networking, endpoints, mobile, physical security, and public safety support
