Full Stack Web Engineer (E-Commerce Platforms)

Role Overview
We’re partnering with an established, design-driven consumer products company with a strong digital commerce footprint and a growing in-house engineering team. This organization blends creativity with technology and is investing in modern web platforms to power scalable e-commerce and internal business applications.

This role sits on a collaborative engineering team and focuses on building and enhancing customer-facing e-commerce experiences as well as custom internal tools that support a broader digital ecosystem. You’ll work closely with product, design, and operations partners, reporting directly to the Head of Engineering.

This is a primarily on-site role based in Southern California, with flexibility to work remotely 1–2 days per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain full stack web applications supporting an e-commerce ecosystem

  • Build and extend custom functionality on top of Shopify Plus and related SaaS and CMS platforms

  • Develop responsive, user-friendly front-end experiences with strong UX and accessibility standards

  • Implement and consume REST and GraphQL APIs to integrate third-party systems and services

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, design, and operations to align technical solutions with business goals

  • Apply best practices in software development to ensure scalability, performance, and maintainability

  • Contribute to code reviews, documentation, and continuous improvement of engineering standards

  • Support analytics instrumentation, SEO optimization, and accessibility (WCAG) compliance initiatives

Education & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field

  • 3+ years of professional web development experience

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Shopify Plus or similar e-commerce platforms

  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript

  • Experience working with Liquid templates, HTML, and modern CSS

  • Solid understanding of responsive design and UI implementation

  • Familiarity with front-end frameworks such as React or Vue

Preferred Experience:

  • Experience with backend scripting languages such as Node.js, PHP, or Python

  • Hands-on experience with Shopify GraphQL and REST APIs

  • Experience working with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL

  • Exposure to NoSQL technologies like MongoDB or Redis

  • Comfort working in Linux environments and using CLI tools

  • Understanding of DevOps fundamentals including CI/CD, containerization, and version control with Git

  • Experience working in Agile, Scrum, or other collaborative development methodologies
