Role Overview

As a key backend engineer, you’ll build the systems powering real-time LLM experiences, shaping the infrastructure behind millions of daily interactions. This role is deeply cross-functional, working at the intersection of applied AI, distributed systems, and high-performance product delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement scalable backend systems and APIs for agentic workflows, memory layers, and tool integrations

  • Build and maintain highly available infrastructure supporting real-time inference and conversation pipelines

  • Develop and optimize internal platforms, including CI/CD, observability, and service templates

  • Collaborate with research and frontend teams to prototype, ship, and iterate on user-facing features

  • Lead initiatives to meet high performance, reliability, and security standards through automation, load testing, and monitoring

  • Participate in on-call rotations to ensure system reliability and uptime

Education & Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience developing and scaling backend systems for high-traffic applications

  • Strong skills in Python, Go, Rust, or equivalent backend languages

  • Deep knowledge of distributed systems and cloud-native tools (e.g., Kubernetes, gRPC, Postgres, Redis, Kafka)

  • Proven track record of owning backend services from design through deployment and monitoring

  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills across engineering disciplines

Preferred Experience

  • Startup or fast-paced product environment experience

  • Familiarity with LLM or AI-based product backends

  • Experience building secure, compliant systems for regulated industries
