  • Software Engineering Manager (Hybrid – 4598)

    Job Title:
    Software Engineering Manager

    Role Overview
This role sits within a growing product-focused technology company operating in a complex, customer-facing domain. The engineering organization is intentionally lean, and this position exists to add leverage: someone who can stay deeply hands-on while also elevating technical quality, decision-making, and team execution.

This is a true player-coach role, ideal for an experienced backend engineer who enjoys writing production code while guiding architecture, mentoring engineers, and partnering closely with product to ship meaningful features.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Spend the majority of time writing and shipping backend code, with a smaller but meaningful portion dedicated to team leadership

    • Design, build, and maintain backend services using modern .NET technologies

    • Own architectural decisions and guide long-term technical direction

    • Lead code reviews and raise engineering quality, performance, and reliability

    • Mentor engineers through feedback, pairing, and career development

    • Collaborate closely with product and stakeholders to deliver customer-facing features

    • Support and evolve cloud infrastructure across public cloud environments

    Education & Qualifications:

    • 8+ years of backend software engineering experience

    • 2+ years in a technical leadership or player-coach management role

    • Strong expertise with C#, .NET, ASP.NET Web APIs, and SQL-based data stores

    • Experience working in cloud environments (AWS and/or Azure)

    • Background building and scaling consumer-facing or B2B product platforms

    • Strong communication skills and sound technical judgment

    Preferred Experience:

    • Experience in travel, logistics, or similarly complex transaction-heavy domains

    • Exposure to AI-enabled product features or systems

    • Background in small to mid-sized product-driven technology companies

    Why Us:

    • High-impact role with real ownership and technical influence

    • Opportunity to shape architecture and engineering standards

    • Balance of hands-on coding and pragmatic leadership

    • Close collaboration with product on meaningful, customer-facing work

    • A team that values clarity, execution, and thoughtful decision-making

    Benefits and Perks:

    • Competitive base salary with equity participation

    • Comprehensive health and benefits package

    • Flexible work arrangements for U.S.-based candidates

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis now and in the future. This position does not offer sponsorship.
