Job Title: Digital Innovations Principal Engineer

Role Overview:

A global enterprise organization undergoing a large-scale digital transformation is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead the technical strategy, architecture, and execution of next-generation supply chain and operational platforms. This is a highly visible engineering leadership role focused on modernizing enterprise systems, scaling cloud-native architecture, and advancing AI-enabled engineering practices to improve delivery velocity, software quality, and operational excellence.

As a senior technical authority, you will influence architecture, engineering strategy, delivery execution, and platform standards across multiple teams and product portfolios. This role combines deep technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, requiring the ability to guide complex engineering decisions, remove delivery obstacles, align stakeholders, and drive measurable business outcomes across large-scale transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and drive the technical vision for large-scale supply chain and operational platforms, ensuring alignment with business priorities and long-term scalability goals
• Lead architecture and design decisions across distributed applications and cloud-native environments while balancing speed, quality, resiliency, security, maintainability, and cost optimization
• Provide technical leadership throughout the full software lifecycle, from discovery and architecture through implementation, deployment, and operational support
• Partner with product, business, architecture, and engineering stakeholders to translate strategic objectives into actionable technical roadmaps and execution plans
• Mentor engineers, technical leads, and engineering managers to elevate engineering standards, technical excellence, and delivery quality
• Lead multiple development teams when needed by establishing priorities, coordinating execution, and driving alignment across parallel initiatives
• Drive execution through scaled agile delivery practices, including user story development, acceptance criteria definition, dependency management, risk mitigation, and delivery planning
• Facilitate deep technical discussions around cloud-native architectures, APIs, event-driven systems, integration patterns, observability, reliability, and security
• Establish and champion modern engineering practices across DevSecOps, platform engineering, automation, observability, reliability engineering, and operational support
• Identify cross-team dependencies, organizational bottlenecks, and delivery risks while driving alignment across engineering and business stakeholders
• Improve engineering productivity, software quality, and operational efficiency through AI-enabled development tools, automation, and emerging engineering capabilities
• Communicate technical direction, delivery health, risks, tradeoffs, and key decisions to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders
• Continuously improve engineering processes, governance frameworks, platform capabilities, and operating models through data-driven decision making
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous learning, and technical excellence

Education & Qualifications:

• 8+ years of experience designing and delivering complex enterprise software solutions
• Proven experience leading large-scale modernization, digital transformation, or enterprise platform initiatives
• 5+ years of experience building cloud-native solutions within AWS environments
• Strong experience designing distributed systems, scalable architectures, resiliency patterns, and modern integration frameworks
• Hands-on experience with React, Node.js (TypeScript), PostgreSQL, Docker, Terraform, Serverless technologies, and modern web application development
• Strong background in DevOps, platform engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and enterprise operational practices
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation, infrastructure-as-code, and modern software delivery methodologies
• Expertise in system architecture, domain-driven design, APIs, event-driven architectures, and enterprise integration patterns
• Experience integrating data, analytics, and AI/ML capabilities into enterprise platforms
• Demonstrated ability to influence technical direction across multiple teams and stakeholder groups
• Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for both technical and business audiences
• Experience operating within scaled agile delivery environments

Preferred Experience:

• Experience leading or coordinating globally distributed engineering teams
• Experience with large-scale enterprise transformation programs
• Experience with supply chain, logistics, fulfillment, manufacturing, or operational platforms
• Exposure to AI-powered applications and AI-enabled software development workflows
• Experience driving adoption of AI-enabled engineering capabilities across development organizations
• AWS certifications such as Solutions Architect
• SAFe or Agile delivery certifications
• Experience building developer enablement platforms, internal productivity tooling, or engineering acceleration solutions
